Units from JRG Bolesławiec and OSP Nowogrodziec were dispatched to the scene. Due to the nature of the incident, the Specialist Water Rescue Group from JRG No. 1 in Legnica was also called.

It turned out that a vehicle was lying upside down in the body of water, 2 metres from the shore. Firefighters immediately dived in to check whether any injured people were inside the vehicle. Fortunately, no one was there.

The condition of the car, particularly the thickness of the mud covering it, indicated that it had been in the water for a long time. Firefighters attached a rope to the wreck and pulled it ashore using the winch fitted to the SCRT Scania Mega City (a specialised heavy fire and technical rescue vehicle).
