On Thursday, the Municipal Police were informed by telephone that cigarettes were being sold to children at one of the kiosks on Staszica Street. Municipal Police Commander Emil Zając went to check the information. It turned out that the kiosk attendant was selling individual cigarettes to an adult at that moment. The commander called the officers, who fined the woman PLN 100. The officers informed the woman that they were receiving reports of children buying cigarettes at her kiosk.

The following day, the officers observed the kiosk again. They noticed a girl approach it and quickly walk away holding something in her hand. When the officers approached her, it turned out that she was smoking a cigarette. The 15-year-old explained that she had bought it from the kiosk attendant who had been fined the previous day. The woman denied selling the cigarette to the 15-year-old. She also refused to give a statement in the matter. The girl was questioned in the presence of her mother. The 15-year-old said that she had bought a cigarette for the first time and had learned from her friends that cigarettes could be bought at the kiosk. The Municipal Police have already prepared an application to the court to punish the kiosk attendant. The woman faces a fine of up to PLN 5,000.
