An investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the death of a 19-year-old resident of the village of Wykroty near Nowogrodziec. During the night from Wednesday to Thursday, his body was found on railway tracks near Mrozów, 86 kilometres from Bolesławiec.

Hit by a train or beaten

The man had numerous minor injuries, including head wounds, as well as very serious injuries to his leg. According to the head of the criminal investigations section of the police in Środa Śląska, everything indicates that the man was hit by a train. The deceased’s colleagues, with whom he worked in Bolesławiec, give a different account of the cause of death. According to them, the teenager was beaten and thrown from a moving train. The police, however, have not confirmed this information.

Protest

Sergeant Jacek Rostecki, who is supervising the investigation, is awaiting the results of the autopsy. It will then be possible to say more about the cause of death. Contrary to reports from other sources, the boy’s hair had not been cut. Without waiting for the case to be explained, young people from Bolesławiec have already marched through the city in protest against racism.
