Local leaders and authors of proposals, supported by twenty signatures from fellow residents, could submit them from 18 to 30 June. However, the greatest activity at the town hall’s consultation and information point took place on the final day. On Tuesday, around 50 projects were submitted. Earlier, Legnica residents consulted their ideas more than 250 times by phone, email or in person at the information point.

This year, Legnica residents submitted 87 projects—14 more than in 2014. They came from all eleven areas of the city. Residents of areas No. 3 (Piekary 2), No. 8 (Tarninów) and No. 9 (Fabryczna) were the most active. They submitted more than 10 applications each.

What types of investments dominate this year’s proposals? Those related to sport and active recreation, including cycling infrastructure. They include green leisure areas, playgrounds, as well as pavements, car parks and landscaped courtyards.

In accordance with the LBO procedure, the submitted projects will be analysed from 1 July to 4 September by the Technical Project Evaluation Team and the Project Qualification Team. By 4 September, a list of applications for each area of the city that meet all the necessary criteria will be announced. This will be followed, until the end of September, by a period for promoting the projects in local communities. Everything will be decided by a residents’ vote, which will run from 1 to 9 October. The results of the third edition of the LBO will be known by 23 October.
