More than 2,300 pupils and preschoolers took part in the “Clean Up the World” campaign, which was held in Bolesławiec from 15 to 17 September (Friday–Sunday). Pupils from Bolesławiec primary and lower-secondary schools, scouts and preschoolers cleaned, among other places, the area in the Bóbr River valley, the forests near 10 Marca Street and Piastów Street, city parks, and the surroundings of schools and preschools. The campaign participants collected a huge mountain of rubbish—around 30 m³. After the major clean-up, the young people gathered around a bonfire and roasted sausages. The campaign was organised by the Municipal Centre for Environmental Education.
