The young people had been preparing for this event since March this year so that, after three months of intensive work, they could complete the course successfully. They were instructed by Maciej Marcinkiewicz.
At the beginning, the young lifeguards took a test on water rescue knowledge, then completed further examination tasks at the swimming pool—timed swimming, underwater swimming and rescue operations. At the WOPR centre in Kunice, the young lifeguards practiced boating and completed towing, pulling people ashore and winch rescue exercises.
The young people from Bolesławiec performed excellently, and everyone successfully completed the demanding tests. The examination concluded with an oath and a bonfire. Other WOPR centres also took part in the examination, including those from Legnica, Lubin and Brzeg. An observer from the Wojewódzkie WOPR we Wrocławiu supervised the proper conduct of the event.
With the qualifications granted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the lifeguards can work at all types of bodies of water.
