Legnica’s Julek had a very sweet birthday. A year has passed since he was placed by the Market Square, and the young people of Legnica did not overlook the occasion.
– We take care of Julek – says Aleksander Strzelecki, a student at V Liceum Ogólnokształcące in Legnica. – Although, as you can see, he does not need applause, because there are always groups of children around the figurine – he adds with a smile.
– It is probably the most photographed figure in the city. Children simply like Julek – says Edward Dobosz, the principal of the Legnica secondary school.
The owner of a nearby café told us how much children like this place. – There is not an hour when there are no children by the figurine. Julek is photographed and hugged by the little ones. Even adults cannot simply walk past; everyone stops, looks and just smiles – says Mrs Aneta from Legnica.
