During a conference attended by Bolesławiec County Head Dariusz Kwaśniewski, Chairman of the Bolesławiec County Council Karol Stasik and County Secretary Radosław Palczewski, held on Thursday, 21 May, at the new headquarters of the office, the issue of the parking lot at the County Office was raised. “This is a problem that has not been fully resolved,” the county head stressed. “To a large extent, this parking lot is occupied not by customers of the Bolesławiec County Office, but by residents. People who work at the Bolesławiec Municipal Office, the town hall and the court park here. Yet it should serve customers. We will have to do something about it.”
There will be no parking meters because this parking lot does not have the status of a public road. As the secretary said, the county authorities will be presented with a proposal to install barriers and introduce paid entry. Anyone wishing to deal with a matter at the office will have to take a ticket and pay a small fee when leaving. (It will probably be the case, however, that if a County Office customer manages to finish within half an hour, they will not pay a penny.)
“This is not about making money,” Radosław Palczewski stressed. “It is intended to discipline those who leave their cars here for 24 hours,” he added. Parking for such a long time will require an appropriately high payment.
What is more, it will most likely also be the case that the parking lot will be open to everyone from 6:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., as well as on weekends. On working days, only a few parking spaces will be provided for County Office employees. “We do not want to make money from residents,” Dariusz Kwaśniewski assured. “We simply want to bring order to traffic.”
