For 20 years, Rock League has been one of Poland’s most interesting and prominent showcases of young rock bands. It has maintained a high standard for years, remains open to what is happening in Polish rock, and is gaining new audiences rapidly year after year.

In an era of the rapid development of rock and the emergence of new trends and directions, musical correctness, good lyrics or technical proficiency are no longer enough. There is a growing demand for something new and groundbreaking, for something more than ordinary thrashing. Both rock musicians themselves and audiences are searching in this direction. Instead of the craze for promoted stars, growing interest in the musical underground and broadly understood rock music can be observed at Rock League. It was at this event that a number of young bands made their debuts and went on to gain nationwide recognition.

Rock League not only showcases young bands, but—most importantly—promotes and supports talented musicians, enabling them to exchange experiences and achieve their first serious successes on the road to a career.

Following a series of qualifying concerts held at the turn of 2014 and 2015, the following bands made it to the final concert: Angry Again, Dyabeu, Strain, Trichomes, Wolfrider.

This year’s final is supported, as prize sponsors, by companies including: Komputronik, Roland Polska, Gitary Mayones, Music Dealer, Arcade Audio, Laboga, Polsound, Shure, Ess Audio, FX Music Group and AVT Korporacja. The best band will receive a recording session at Tomasz Rogula’s TR Studios near Warsaw.

The bands will be judged in five categories (best band, best guitarist, bassist, vocalist, and drummer) by a Polish-German jury chaired by the renowned bassist and composer Mieczysław Jurecki. The other jury members are: Roman Rogowiecki, Tomasz Rogula, Wojciech Hoffmann, Torsten Wiegel.

The star of this year’s event will be Lipali (pictured). Two German bands will perform as support: Alice Roger and The Horny Harmonics.

This year’s Rock League Final is held under the media patronage of the magazines “Gitarzysta”, “Perkusista”, “Basista”, “Estrada i Studio”, Telewizja Dami, the weekly “Nowiny Jeleniogórskie”, Muzyczne Radio and the music portal Info.Music.PL. Event partners: Hotel “Jan” in Wojcieszyce and Restauracja “Sphinx”.

The main partner of this year’s final is Tauron Ekoenergia.

Tickets: PLN 5—available from the JCK office, ul. 1 Maja 60, and before the concert at the Stadium.
