Ceramic artist and sculptor from Saxony Frank Brinkmann presents small ceramic forms, three-dimensional sculptures and collages in Bolesławiec. At the opening, exhibition curator Katarzyna Zarówny introduced those present to the artist’s background. The author spoke about his work and fascination with clay as a material, as well as the activities of the artists’ centre at the Schaddelmühle Centre for Culture and Art, where he runs his studio. After the official part, the Saxon artist was happy to talk with those attending the opening. The event was accompanied by music performed by the Tres band, consisting of Mirosław Kuc and Sławomir Zimniak.
The exhibition was organised as part of the Polish-German “Via Regia Sculptura” project. Its coordinator is Ute Hartwig-Schulz, who runs the “Künstlergut Prösitz” foundation in Saxony. As part of the project, artists from Saxony carry out various artistic activities along the Via Regia route. Bolesławiec joined the project by organising Frank Brinkmann’s exhibition. In addition, in the autumn Mateusz Grobelny will build a ceramic kiln in Saxony, which will become a permanent feature of the borderland landscape.
