The Act of 29 July 2005 on waste electrical and electronic equipment requires users of equipment intended for households to hand over used equipment to a collector of used equipment. Since the summer, this service has been provided by Miejski Zakład Gospodarki Komunalnej Sp. z o.o. in Bolesławiec, based at 6 S. Staszica Street. Users of electronic or electrical equipment (natural persons only) may deliver used equipment to the MZGK premises. The facility will dispose of it free of charge. If the equipment needs to be transported from the user's property, a transport fee will be charged. Services involving the acceptance of used equipment from businesses will also be provided for a fee.
The Act also states that, when selling equipment, retail and wholesale sellers will be required to accept used equipment free of charge in an amount no greater than the amount of new equipment sold.
