The Roman Catholic Parish of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and Saint Nicholas in Bolesławiec is involved in promoting the sacred heritage of Polish-German border areas. Several interesting events have been prepared for this occasion.
On Friday, 8 May, in cooperation with Elektros and Philips Polska, during the Marian Appeal at 9:00 p.m., the possibilities for the Basilica’s exterior lighting will be presented. This will be a trial illumination as part of a small Festival of Light, which will help prepare an exterior lighting project for the Basilica in the future.
On Saturday, 9 May, from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., visitors will have the opportunity to sample homemade food near the Basilica and view a photographic exhibition presenting the history of the Basilica and the story of its partner parish in Leutersdorf, Saxony. On Saturday evening, at 9:00 p.m., the Parish also invites everyone to the Marian Appeal, during which we will see another presentation of the small Festival of Light.
On Sunday, 10 May, at 7:00 p.m., an organ music concert will begin at the Basilica. During the concert, doctoral student Father Łukasz Kutrowski from the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin will perform works by such masters as Johann Sebastian Bach and César Franck. The Marian Appeal and the conclusion of the small Festival of Light will follow immediately after the concert.
