At the end of April, the duty officer at the County Police Headquarters in Zgorzelec received a report of a theft. As police determined, two women approached an elderly resident of Zgorzelec, allegedly wanting to sell him blankets. They asked to be let into the apartment so they could present their goods. The victim let them in. And while one of them was telling him about the blankets, the other one... ransacked the apartment. When they left, the elderly man discovered that almost PLN 7,000 had been stolen from him.

Let us remember: scammers use various methods to enrich themselves at our expense. They pose as family members, property administration employees, representatives of state institutions or charitable organizations. They target elderly, ill and, above all, lonely people.

Let us remain vigilant and not let strangers into our homes!
