The Regional Representation of the European Commission in Poland has joined the group of organizers of this year’s festival in Bolesławiec. As part of the cooperation, BOK-MCC received, among other things, funding of seven thousand zlotys to prepare and print one thousand copies of the festival brochure. The publication will contain information about local folk groups, rural women’s associations and organizations that will present the culture of the countries of the former Yugoslavia during the event, including traditional dishes, music and dances. It will also include the detailed program of the event and information about the invited groups that will enhance the occasion. The publication will be distributed free of charge to interested festival participants.
The South Slavic Culture Festival has been held in Bolesławiec since 2000. The event aims to integrate people of diverse backgrounds who settled in our region after World War II. Its goals include preserving the traditions, language and customs of re-emigrants from the countries of the former Yugoslavia and presenting the rich culture of southern Europe. This is an extremely valuable initiative in the context of promoting culture and is very important for Bolesławiec County. The event is constantly developing and is becoming an important fixture on the cultural-events map of Poland and even Europe.
