The students learned about the production profile of Lovink Polska, a manufacturer of enameled components for household appliances, located in the Kamienna Góra Special Economic Zone for Small Businesses in Wykroty. They toured the company’s premises and observed the individual stages of production. During a meeting with the plant director Marcin Pilitowski, they learned about the rules of employment and the requirements potential employees must meet.
The middle-school students also toured the plant of Weber Hydraulika, a manufacturer of lifts and cylinders for agricultural and industrial machinery. During a meeting with Danuta Wawrzkiewicz, they learned what subjects are worth studying in order to find an interesting and well-paid job in the future. Meanwhile, Artur Czukiewski and Dariusz Szymański introduced the students to the production process.
In the machining department, the students observed CNC machine tools at work, while in the assembly department they had the opportunity to see for themselves what it is like to make a cylinder.
At the end of the meeting, the students also received small gifts funded by both plants.
The meeting was intended to introduce middle-school students to the operation of industrial plants and acquaint them with opportunities to find interesting work after completing secondary school. It was also meant to help them choose the profession they would like to pursue in the future.
The meeting was organized as part of cooperation between Zespół Szkół Mechanicznych w Bolesławcu, Lovink Polska, Weber Hydraulika and the Kamienna Góra Special Economic Zone for Small Businesses in Kamienna Góra, which organizes the Vocational University for Middle-School Students.
