Maciej Kołodziejski: Why did you choose this competition?
Maja Letko: I study in Zielona Góra, and the first casting, which took place at the Zielona Góra Palm House, was close to where I live, so I decided to go. Many people encouraged me, saying: “Since you became Miss BŚC, keep trying—you have a great chance.” I realized that in order to achieve something, you should not stand still, but set yourself new goals and challenges. Before the holidays, I received information about further auditions at a downtown hotel in Zielona Góra. I was supposed to bring high heels, a dress and a swimsuit. First, we presented ourselves in everyday clothes, then in swimsuits, and finally in dresses. The swimsuit presentation was the most important. It all took a very long time because the Miss Teenager auditions were held on the same day.
How did you react when you found out that you were in the final ten?
At first, it did not sink in. When they called out my number, I did not understand whether they were calling the contestants who had been eliminated or those who had advanced. Only after some time did I realize that I had succeeded, that I would take part in the final gala, and I felt enormous joy and pride. For me, this is already an achievement, and I am not thinking about what happens next ... fate will bring whatever it brings. From April 16 to 19, we have a training camp. We will practise the choreography for the gala, which will take place on April 19 at 7:00 p.m. at the Zielona Góra Philharmonic.
