Police officers from the Ścinawa Police Station detained four people, aged between 13 and 17. All of the suspects are accused of break-ins and thefts in the town. The group specialized in robbing garages and garden sheds. They sold the stolen items to random passers-by.
During the night of April 1–2, 2015, the gang broke into one of the garden sheds in Ścinawa and stole a power generator and an angle grinder. The victim discovered the theft the following day and immediately notified the police. Officers quickly determined where the thieves had hidden the loot—in hay in a field. The police secured the stolen property.
When the thieves returned for the loot, they could no longer find it. They were detained. What is more, officers proved that they had committed five additional burglaries.
Three of the teenagers will appear before a family court, while the 17-year-old faces up to 10 years in prison.
