Among its many statutory tasks, the Social Insurance Institution finances activities related to preventing accidents at work and occupational diseases. ZUS co-finances entrepreneurs’ projects aimed at maintaining employees’ ability to work throughout their entire period of professional activity:
- advisory projects focused on improving occupational safety and hygiene management
- investment projects concerning technical safety
- advisory-investment projects combining the activities described above.
The level of funding from ZUS varies depending on the size of the entrepreneur applying for support, measured by the number of employees. Depending on the nature of the project, an entrepreneur may receive 20, 60, 80 or 90 percent funding, while the maximum amount of support may be as much as PLN 400,000.
How should the application be submitted?
Entrepreneurs applying for funding submit to ZUS an “Application by a contribution payer for funding for a project concerning maintaining employees’ ability to work throughout their entire period of professional activity”. The application is then assessed by ZUS. Following a positive assessment, an agreement for the implementation of the project is signed, after which the funds are transferred in two instalments. The first instalment is paid within 14 days of signing the agreement. Once the project has been completed, it is accepted by an expert. The second instalment is paid within 30 days of the project being accepted positively.
The application form, instructions for completing it and detailed explanations concerning the application have been published on zus.pl, under “Prevention and rehabilitation – Accident prevention”. Full information about the entire funding programme is also available there. The application completion guide was prepared to help entrepreneurs correctly complete the documentation step by step.
