The free tickets disappeared in the blink of an eye, and crowds filled the hall on Lotnicza Street on Saturday evening. It was well worth coming to this artist’s recital—he has been gifted with an extraordinary voice. It was another successful artistic and social event in our city.
Mrs Krystyna Trzmielewska arrived at the concert from the other end of the city several dozen minutes before it began. “This is precisely the artist I adore, although perhaps he is not very well known nationally,” said the woman from Legnica. “I know his songs and believe he is the perfect performer for our holiday. My friends were unconvinced because they wanted someone younger, but after the concert they changed their minds. They were delighted,” Mrs Krystyna added.
Mayor Tadeusz Krzakowski, opening the concert, said that women shape men and give meaning to their lives. “We are grateful to you for that,” he said. “Thanks to you, we become better. May this evening express our gratitude and respect for all women.”
The concert was a gift for the women of Legnica on the occasion of Women’s Day. Therefore, just before it began, the mayor symbolically presented one of the women with a large bouquet of flowers, while also offering his wishes to all women. Many women received tulips.
And what was the concert like? The repertoire of Andrzej Cierniewski consists primarily of songs about love and relationships between people. The themes are very mature and, at the same time, universal. Every listener can find a part of themselves in the perfectly sung words. “Two Morgas of Sunshine” and “Sweet Carolina”—these hits could not be missing from the artist’s Saturday concert. A crowd of Legnica residents enjoyed themselves together with the singer. Since the songs’ melodies themselves invited people to dance, they rose from their seats, swayed, clapped to the rhythm, sang along with the artist and genuinely had a great time.
Andrzej Cierniewski did not spare the women warm words and good wishes. “I treat every concert as the most important one. This evening in Legnica is also the most important one for me,” he said. He thanked the audience for coming in such large numbers and for sharing in the fun, while the audience thanked him with an ovation.
