The commemorations began with a run. At 1:00 p.m., a Holy Mass was held at the Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Help for the intention of the Cursed Soldiers. The main ceremony at the “Anchor” began with a short scouting roll call by the Bolesławiec Szare Szeregi Scout District, followed by speeches from participants, including Mayor Piotr Roman. The ceremony concluded with a roll call of the fallen, a volley fired by the Honor Guard Company of the 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment, and the laying of flowers at the monument to Fighting Poland.
After the ceremony, participants and city residents had the opportunity to visit the cellars of the Youth Cultural Center, which housed the Bolesławiec Security Office detention center after the war.
The National Remembrance Day for the Cursed Soldiers commemorations concluded at the “Orzeł” Cultural Integration Center, where nearly one hundred people watched an educational screening of the documentary film “INKA 1946 …. JA JEDNA ZGINĘ,” directed by Natalia Koryncka-Gruz.
