The incident occurred on May 5. The young man was walking along the roadside near Ocice with his friends. There, he was hit by a silver Opel Astra. "A team went to the scene, documented the collision and found a mirror from the car that hit the boy. On Sunday, there was a report that a police car had hit a deer and had a damaged windshield. We connected these facts and decided to initiate proceedings," said Paweł Górzyński, Deputy Commander of the Bolesławiec County Police. The police officer who was driving the Astra admitted that he had probably hit the pedestrian. The evidence was sent to the prosecutor's office for assessment, and it ordered proceedings for an offense to be initiated because the injured pedestrian had suffered minor injuries.

The County Police Commander initiated disciplinary proceedings against the officer driving the police car and decided to suspend him from duty. The deputy commander did not want to say what the police officer had testified or why he had left the scene of the collision. The case is expected to go to court within two weeks.
