Mate is an original music project combining a passion for folk, jazz awareness, a rock edge, and excellent lyrics about life and love with a great deal of positive energy.
The band from Zielona Góra and Żary has existed since 2006. Its inspirations include reggae, ska, jazz, and folk music from various parts of the world. The musicians try not to close themselves off to any influences because they believe that music knows no borders or divisions. The band Mate took part in the popular music show “Must Be The Music. Tylko Muzyka”.
In 2009, they were among the finalists of the Mayday Rock Festival and Rock In Minsk Fest. In 2010, they took second place at the Wake Up & Live festival, and Rafał Żurawiński was selected as the best vocalist. They also opened the 2010 Reggae nad Wartą festival.
The band will perform on February 24 at the Student Club of the Witelon State University of Applied Sciences in Legnica (10 Mickiewicza Street). It starts at 6:00 p.m.. Admission is free.
