The incident took place on the night of February 12–13 in Nowogrodziec municipality. A storage building was broken into, during which a moped was stolen. The owner estimated the losses at PLN 1,000.
Police officers detained a 22-year-old resident of the municipality. They found the stolen scooter in his garage. The vehicle had already been partially disassembled because the thief wanted to sell it for parts.
The 22-year-old admitted to the crime. He explained that he knew the moped’s owner and knew where the two-wheeler was parked.
The scooter was returned to its owner. The detained man had previously been convicted of similar crimes. He now faces up to 10 years in prison.
