The collected Christmas trees were taken to the Regional Municipal Waste Management Facility on Rzeszotarska Street. There, they are shredded and ground before being sent to the composting plant, where they will be turned into natural soil. Currently, this compost is used to reclaim sections of the landfill.

Processing Christmas trees and many other biodegradable waste materials is possible thanks to the environmentally friendly composting plant built by LPGK. It began operating in 2010.

Christmas trees removed from homes can still be dropped off free of charge at the Selective Municipal Waste Collection Points (PSZOK), located at 1 Rzeszotarska Street and 48 Nowodworska Street.
