The accident occurred in the evening at kilometre 29 of the A4 motorway between Zgorzelec and Bolesławiec, on the carriageway towards Wrocław.
Two vehicles, a van and a passenger car, probably collided. The truck driver travelling behind them most likely tried to avoid hitting them, swerved sharply, crashed into the barrier and blocked the entire carriageway.
The first two vehicles were completely destroyed by fire. There are no seriously injured people.
The route towards Wrocław is blocked.
