The incident occurred during the night of January 26–27. The police duty officer received information that two men were damaging road signs and protective barriers on Jaworzyńska Street. When the patrol arrived at the scene, the vandals were already gone. However, the officers noticed the suspects at a petrol station.
While carrying out their official duties, the police officers were attacked by the vandals (both are Legnica residents, aged 24 and 28). A scuffle broke out. After a short while, both aggressors were subdued. They were taken to police custody. One of the officers was injured and received medical attention.
The 24- and 28-year-olds now face up to five years in prison.
