Grandmother’s and Grandfather’s Day in Bogatynia

There are several days in the calendar that bring a smile to our faces and, consequently, joy and immense satisfaction. Undoubtedly, Grandmother’s and Grandfather’s Days, eagerly awaited by the youngest, are such dates, falling on January 21 and 22 respectively.

In Gmina Bogatynia, Grandmother’s and Grandfather’s Day is also celebrated in a very special way. Meetings, performances and festivities filled with poems, songs and wishes addressed to irreplaceable grandmothers and grandfathers take place.

While preparing for their performances, the children also remember small presents and gifts, which later occupy places of honor on mantelpieces and in display cabinets with family keepsakes.

However, the most important thing on this day is remembrance and a big heart, which are the most beautiful gifts for grandmothers and grandfathers. After all, it often happens that grandchildren become the apple of their eye.

One of the institutions that prepared a celebration for these holidays was Public Preschool No. 6 in Bogatynia. Children from individual groups presented very diverse programs on the stage of the Bogatynia Cultural Centre.
