The first stage of the competition attracted a record number of 220 cities from across the country. Thanks to votes from internet users, Legnica decisively defeated all its regional competitors, including Świdnica and Strzegom. The final sixteen will compete for the title of Poland’s most beautifully illuminated Christmas city. Voting began on 13 January and will continue until 23 January. The main prize will be household appliances worth PLN 10,000, which will be donated to a social cause.
Legnica’s Christmas decorations are magical, unique and charming. Residents and visitors continue to flock to them to take photographs. Weekend walks among these illuminations have become a cherished tradition.
