A 25-year-old man with no permanent address was detained by officers from Police Station II in Jelenia Góra. The 25-year-old is suspected of burglary.

The crime took place at the beginning of December last year in one of the apartments in Jelenia Góra. The 25-year-old had nowhere to stay, so his aunt took him in. He repaid her by stealing her bank card and PIN.

On the day of the theft, he withdrew PLN 2,000 from the woman’s account. The next day, he did it again. The victim estimated that nearly PLN 4,000 had been stolen from her.

The aunt notified the police. She told the officers that she suspected the 25-year-old of the theft. The man returned to Jelenia Góra only after several days. As it turned out, he spent the money travelling around the country.

He now faces up to 10 years in prison.
