A Reader contacted us about the issue, expressing concern over what they saw at the new children’s playground built in Waryński Park. While walking through the park, they noticed an owner allowing their dog to relieve itself next to the new swings. Apparently, the entire park is still being used as an animal toilet.
The city office spokesperson explained what measures to protect the playground from dogs will still be installed.
– In December, fencing for the zone with the sand surface is planned, along with the installation of a dog-stop grate (a similar one operates at the playground on Łukasiewicza Street), – informs Agnieszka Gergont. – In the next stage, in the first quarter of the new year, a dog toilet will also be installed in the park, with clear information for pet owners that this is the place intended for walking dogs. The toilet will be equipped with bins and bags for cleaning up after one’s dog. Monitoring is also planned throughout the park, as well as pictograms (signs) informing visitors that walking dogs is prohibited.
