The accident occurred during the night of December 12–13 on Zgorzelecka Street in Bolesławiec. At around 4:00 a.m., a resident of Nowogrodziec municipality, traveling from the direction of Zgorzelec, drove a Volkswagen Transporter onto the bridge and ran over a 30-year-old man lying there.
The minibus driver was sober and stopped immediately. Help was summoned without delay; someone even covered the injured man with a blanket.
The 30-year-old man was taken to hospital. He is in serious condition. Police are determining the causes of the accident. It is known, however, that it was raining and dark at the time of the incident. It was also established that the VW driver was not traveling at excessive speed.
