The body was noticed early in the morning by one of the firefighters from Bolesławiec, who was checking whether pieces of a tree had caught on the viaduct. The Special Rescue Group from Legnica was called to the scene. The firefighters descended on ropes and used a stretcher to haul the body up to the top of the viaduct. This was the only way to retrieve the body because the river current was too strong.

For now, it is known that the deceased man was about 30 years old. It is not known whether he was a resident of Bolesławiec or whether he died by suicide after jumping from the viaduct, or drowned. More information will be available after the autopsy.
