A 50-year-old man suspected of making a false bomb threat has been apprehended by police. The incident took place on June 13 this year, before noon. The man called the emergency number of the Jelenia Góra police and said that an explosive device had been planted in the District Court in Jelenia Góra.
Police officers from the explosives-disposal unit, together with dogs, searched three court buildings. They found nothing.
The 50-year-old was detained. The man probably wanted to disrupt the court’s work. Officers are currently clarifying all the circumstances of the case in detail.
The prosecutor has already placed the suspect under police supervision, banned him from leaving the country and set bail at PLN 5,000. The 50-year-old faces up to eight years in prison.
