On December 1, the first session of the 2014–2018 City Council term was held in the auditorium of the Cultural Centre in Zawidów. Mayor Robert Łężny and 15 councillors took the oath.
During the Council meeting, its chair and two deputy chairs were elected. Andrzej Pilarski was once again appointed head of the Council. The deputy chairs will be: Grzegorz Drabko and Elżbieta Sontowska.
The inaugural session was also attended as a guest by the new deputy starosta of Zgorzelec County, Andrzej Tyc, who wished the new Council fruitful cooperation and many successes in local government.
