The theft took place on November 20 at around 5:10 p.m. in Jelenia Góra. The victim left an unsecured bicycle worth PLN 700 outside one of the buildings. A 47-year-old man was passing by the building and stole the bicycle. The victim notified the police.

Meanwhile, Jelenia Góra officers—on the same day, during an intervention in one of the buildings—found the stolen bicycle in the attic. However, they did not determine who had hidden it there.

As it turned out, they did not need to determine that. The remorseful 47-year-old reported himself to the police station the next day. He was drunk, with more than 2 per mille of alcohol in his system. But after sobering up, he stood by his account.

He now faces up to five years in prison.
