Fuel in Bolesławiec is more than 25 groszy per litre more expensive than in other cities in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship. The average price of a litre of diesel is PLN 3.11, while 98-octane unleaded petrol costs PLN 4.01. The average price of Eurosuper 95 is PLN 3.79.

Most forecasts concerning price reductions—from both analysts at the Polish Chamber of Liquid Fuels and Biuro Refleks, which monitors price movements on the fuel market—are not reflected in our local market. Even price changes announced by PKN Orlen often go unnoticed.

Who is responsible for the prices?

Contrary to appearances, neither station managers nor the owners of the wholesale businesses from which fuel is delivered to tankers and then to dispensers have any say in this matter.

Everyone follows Orlen’s offer. Managers of other stations keep track of fuel-price fluctuations at Polskiego Koncernu Naftowego stations and inform their head offices about them. The head offices decide whether we pay more or less for fuel. At privately owned stations, the owners adjust prices to the general level.

Unfortunately, the turnover of individual stations in Bolesławiec is so high that they do not need to worry about customers.
