The fact that there is a child inside every adult could be seen on Wednesday evening during the second pre-Christmas workshop. And all it took to discover this was flour, salt, oil and water. These ingredients produced salt dough in just a few minutes. Danuta Ziober, chairwoman of the Rural Housewives’ Circle in Kraśnik Dolny, helped make it perfect. After that, all that was needed was imagination…
For most of the workshop participants, this suggested creating angels from the finished material. Anetta Kamińska from the Pro Futuris Foundation was partly responsible for the idea, as she brought several sample pieces to the workshop, including angel figurines. Participants could also use ready-made gingerbread cutters, which they used to create other small decorations.
“Angels can be hung on the Christmas tree or used as decorations in the window,” says Anetta Kamińska. “Stars, teddy bears and hearts made with the cutters are perfect decorations not only for the Christmas tree. Once attached to sticks or wooden clothespins, they can decorate potted plants or curtains.”
After more than an hour of creative work, the participants traditionally sat down at a shared table, enjoying coffee, tea and delicious homemade walnut cake. Those who wished could also finish the bauble projects from the previous week. Meanwhile, the salt-dough creations went into the oven. In a week, they will be ready to decorate.
This was the second workshop in a series organized by the local Rural Housewives’ Circle and the Pro Futuris Foundation. This time, nearly 30 people from Kraśnik Dolny, Bolesławiec and Nowa Wieś also took part.
