An elderly man was returning home after 10 p.m. As he walked through the Przylesie housing estate, he was talking on his mobile phone. Suddenly, he was struck in the head. The blow was so powerful that the victim fell to the ground. The 18-year-old resident of Lubin then tried to pull the phone away from him. Fortunately, something frightened the attacker, and he fled the scene.
The victim was taken to hospital, but it turned out that he had suffered only minor injuries and was discharged home.
At the time of his arrest, the 18-year-old behaved aggressively and even kicked a police officer who intervened. What is more, he was drunk. He had more than one per mille of alcohol in his system.
The teenager was taken into police custody. He now faces up to 12 years in prison.
