On Wednesday evening, a Christmas ornament-decorating workshop was held at the Community House in Kraśnik Dolny. Those who attended had ready-made baubles, stickers, decorations, glitter, ribbons and other small items at their disposal, which they could use to decorate them.

“We do not limit participants in terms of the number of baubles they decorate, but we want everyone to leave at least one behind, which will ultimately hang on the Christmas tree,” explains Anetta Kamińska of the Pro Futuris Foundation. “The tree will be placed in the Community House’s lobby in December, and we will decorate it with these baubles and other decorations that the youngest participants will prepare during separate classes. It will certainly be colourful and magical.”

The workshop participants let their imaginations run free, and after just a dozen or so minutes, finished creations could already be seen. Colourful baubles, decorated using various methods and, above all, original, were created one after another.

“We want to meet regularly during the pre-Christmas period for activities like these,” says Danuta Ziober, chairwoman of the local Rural Housewives’ Circle. “It is not only a way to create unique Christmas decorations, but also an excuse to meet and talk.”

And there was no shortage of that, either. After finishing their work, everyone sat down at a shared table, drinking coffee and tea and sampling homemade cake.

Nearly 30 people from Kraśnik Dolny, Lipiany and Bolesławiec took part in the first meeting. At the next workshops, the organisers plan to make decorations from salt dough and felt, as well as Christmas table arrangements. The workshops were free of charge, and the necessary materials were purchased by the Rural Housewives’ Circle and the Pro Futuris Foundation.
