Officers from the Criminal Division of the Bolesławiec District Police Headquarters arrested a 39-year-old man in the act of stealing fuel. The arrest took place on the premises of a transport company where heavy goods vehicles are parked. The 39-year-old resident of Bolesławiec arrived at the crime scene by bicycle. He had plastic containers and tools with him, which he used to bypass the security features on the tank filler caps.
The suspect was caught in the act and arrested. As it turned out, this was not the only theft he had committed. Officers proved that the 39-year-old was responsible for three such offenses. In total, the thief stole 160 litres of diesel fuel from heavy goods vehicles.
The arrested man confessed to the crime. He explained that he sold the stolen fuel and used the money for his own needs. He now faces up to 10 years in prison.
