The ceremony took place at the Civil Registry Office, in the historic interiors of the Knight Academy. Twelve people received the Gold Medals for Long Service awarded by President of the Republic of Poland Bronisław Komorowski, honoring exceptionally conscientious performance of professional duties. Silver Medals were presented to two people.
The Lower Silesian Regional Assembly awarded three Legnica residents the Gold Honorary Badges of Merit for Lower Silesia, while three other people received Silver Badges.
For extraordinary goodwill and support for veterans’ organizations, the Main Board of the Association of War Invalids of the Republic of Poland awarded the Mayor of Legnica Tadeusz Krzakowski the Jubilee Cross marking 95 years of the Association. Another eight people were honored with the NIKE Medal, as well as the Medal and Badges of Merit for the Association of War Invalids of the Republic of Poland.
The decorations were presented by: MP Małgorzata Sekuła-Szmajdzińska, Jolanta Krupowicz from the Lower Silesian Voivodeship Office, Mayor Tadeusz Krzakowski and Lower Silesian Regional Assembly councillor Michał Huzarski.
