On Sunday, 9 October, a match between Zagłębie Lubin and Miedź Legnica was played in Lubin. At around 1:00 p.m., the Lubin police duty officer was notified of a robbery that had taken place on the border of our county. Officers from the Criminal Division of the Lubin police headquarters immediately took up the case.
As the officers established, the incident occurred near the village of Studzionki. Zagłębie supporters were travelling to the match by car. At one point, another driver cut them off, preventing them from continuing. Another vehicle blocked them from behind. Seven men and a 17-year-old got out of the cars. The entire group of eight, threatening to use violence, demanded that the scarves and shirts bearing the club’s colours be handed over.
Thanks to cooperation with police officers from Góra and Leszno, all the suspects were detained. They are residents of Leszno County aged between 17 and 33. The seven adults now face up to 5 years in prison. The 17-year-old will appear before a family court.
