A parking lot with 32 spaces, including two for people with disabilities, has been built near Primary School No. 9. Residents of this part of the city had been seeking the investment for some time. It was made possible thanks to the Legnica Civic Budget. Through this initiative, local communities have a decisive influence on what can be built in their immediate neighbourhood.
The construction of the parking lot on Marynarska Street is the last completed investment under last year’s LBO. The others were completed in the summer. These include modern and safe playgrounds: on Stanisławowska Street, at Primary School No. 2, on Wielogórska Street, in the “Slavic Village” in the Kopernik housing estate, between Młynarska, Środkowa and Grodzka Streets, and in courtyards in Zakaczawie.
Meanwhile, the “Sports Town” recreational area near Primary School No. 20 features play equipment both for young children and, recreationally, for older ones. A section of Żeromskiego Street was also rebuilt, while a pavement and lighting were installed at 17-19-21 Okrężna Street. The pavement on Senatorska Street was modernised, and a courtyard area within Moniuszki, Holy Trinity and Drukarska Streets was developed. A chessboard was created in the square on Daszyńskiego Street, a football pitch was built on Goździkowa Street, and part of the building at General Secondary School No. 3 underwent thermal modernisation.
