The Bolesławiec Municipality Council session held on 5 November began unusually. During the session, two married couples celebrating their Golden Wedding Anniversaries and one couple celebrating their Diamond Wedding Anniversary were honored.
– Remaining in a harmonious marriage for more than half a century is a beautiful example of family stability in every person’s life – said Andrzej Dutkowski. – I hope that the rich treasury of life experience will be helpful to future generations.
The municipality head, together with Council Chairman Bogusław Uziej, presented the jubilaries with decorations, congratulatory letters and flowers. Their families and loved ones accompanied them during this moving moment.
The congratulatory letters received by the jubilaries were issued by President of the Republic of Poland Bronisław Komorowski and Bolesławiec municipality head Andrzej Dutkowski. In both cases, it was emphasized that each couple demonstrates that shared family life is a reason for pride and joy, as well as a model and example. The President’s medals are a special distinction and a symbolic expression of recognition for family life, for the strength radiating from a lasting marriage, and also an expression of gratitude for the selfless daily effort, for supporting one another in the unwavering fulfillment of the marriage vows, for responsibility and dedication in building and strengthening the family; the jubilaries were also offered best wishes for health, family happiness and many years of married life together.
Barbara Sitna, an employee of the Bolesławiec Municipality Office, briefly presented the biographies of the married couples. The first couple are Ludwika and Franciszek Mucha, who have shared a successful marriage for 60 years. Mr. and Mrs. Mucha were born at the beginning of the 1930s. Mrs. Ludwika was born in Janowice near Tarnopol in the Eastern Borderlands, while Mr. Franciszek was born in Dąbrówka Wisłocka near Mielec, in the Rzeszów Voivodeship, now the Subcarpathian Voivodeship. In 1949, the man came to Żeliszów and met his future wife. In October 1954, Ludwika and Franciszek married; they had two children, a daughter, Maria, and a son, Stanisław. The jubilaries have three granddaughters and are expecting a great-grandchild. They currently live in Kruszyn.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of marriage for Michalina and Kazimierz Grabowski and for Elżbieta and Stanisław Horodecki. The first couple met at a dance in Kraśnik Dolny. After their civil wedding in May 1964, they lived in Lipiany, then in Kraśnik Dolny and Golnice, where they still live today. The jubilaries have three children, two sons and a daughter, and six grandchildren.
The second couple comes from the Eastern Borderlands. Mrs. Elżbieta was born in the mid-1940s in Buczacz, while Mr. Stanisław was born in the early 1940s in Kluwińce. After World War II, they came to Poland with their parents as repatriates. They had known each other since childhood because they settled in neighboring localities: Mrs. Elżbieta in Rakowice and Mr. Stanisław in Bożejowice. They had a civil wedding in April 1964 at the Civil Registry Office in Bolesławiec. The jubilaries are parents to two daughters and have three grandchildren. They have lived in Rakowice all this time.
The session, which was the final session of the sixth term of the Bolesławiec Municipality Council, was also an opportunity to thank the councilors present for their four years of work for the development of the local community and their involvement in the Council’s activities. The Bolesławiec municipality head also received similar thanks from the Council Chairman.
