Children will learn about selected plant species, including trees, shrubs and popular herbs. The project also includes: culinary workshops using popular herb species entitled “Not Only Bees Like Herbs”; classes on the medicinal properties of herbs, “Medicines from Our Garden”; classes entitled “Insects and Birds in Our Garden” and “Healthy Things Grow in Clean Places”; the art competition “Little Friends from Our Garden”; and the educational campaigns “World Cleanup Day” and “World Earth Day”.
The official launch of the project took place at Municipal Public Kindergarten No. 7. A rowan tree was planted on the kindergarten grounds.
The aim of the “Green Kindergartens in Bolesławiec” project is to increase preschoolers’ environmental awareness through direct contact with nature at the kindergarten and in its immediate surroundings. The Municipality of Bolesławiec received funding for the project from the Voivodeship Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management in Wrocław. The project is worth PLN 37,000, including a grant of PLN 18,500 from the Voivodeship Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management in Wrocław (i.e. 50%).
