The accident occurred on November 5, at approximately 3:50 p.m., at the training ground in Świętoszów (Osiecznica commune). As we read on the website of the 10th Armored Cavalry Brigade:

The paramedic present at the scene immediately began administering first aid to the injured man. An ambulance crew arrived at the scene. After several dozen minutes of resuscitation, the emergency physician pronounced the soldier dead.

The deceased non-commissioned officer had served in the military since 1991. He was 42 years old. He left behind two teenage children and a wife. He had served in the 10th Armored Cavalry Brigade since 1999. He participated in the 8th rotation of the Polish Military Contingent in Afghanistan. Most recently, he held the position of platoon commander's assistant and gun crew commander in the 1st battery of the self-propelled artillery squadron of the 10th Armored Cavalry Brigade.

The deceased's family was informed of the accident and received psychological support from military representatives. Brigade soldiers will support the family, just as they support the families of other soldiers who died while performing their official duties.

The soldier who died tragically was participating in the evacuation of an M-113S medical evacuation vehicle immobilized by a technical failure. The accident mentioned above occurred while preparations were being made to tow the ambulance. The circumstances of the incident are being determined by the prosecutor and the military police. The commander of the 10th Armored Cavalry Brigade also appointed a commission to investigate the causes of the unfortunate incident.
