After 15 years of modernization, continuous improvement of standards and expansion of its medical services, the Zgorzelec hospital has received accreditation—an accolade recognizing the institution, its employees and administration for providing services at a high level. The certificate, personally presented by Jerzy Hennig, director of the Center for Healthcare Quality Monitoring, is valid for three years.

Following inspections conducted by a team of assessors from the Center for Healthcare Quality Monitoring, the Zgorzelec hospital received a high evaluation, meeting 84% of the requirements. This placed it 11th in the ranking of 152 hospitals that already hold accreditation.

The Zgorzelec facility is the only hospital in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship to hold the certificate. As the head of the facility emphasizes, the range of medical services provided by the Zgorzelec hospital is comparable to that of a regional hospital, while the standards it offers are at the level of a teaching hospital.

Many guests attended the ceremony, including Senator of the Republic of Poland Jan Michalski, Marshal of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship Cezary Przybylski, Lower Silesian Voivode Tomasz Smolarz, mayors, village heads, representatives of healthcare institutions from the Jelenia Góra region, and employees of the Zgorzelec ZOZ.

The ceremony was enhanced by a performance from the Golec uOrkiestra band.
