On Monday, October 20, between 5:00 and 9:00 a.m., officers from the Jelenia Góra traffic police conducted the preventive operation “Sober Morning,” aimed at improving road safety.
Over the course of four hours, officers checked 337 vehicles and tested the sobriety of 672 drivers. As it turned out, 11 of them were driving under the influence of alcohol. The driving licences of 10 drivers were confiscated. What is more, 10 people were not wearing seat belts.
Driving while intoxicated can carry a sentence of up to two years in prison.
