On Wednesday, 15 October, officers from the Bolesławiec traffic police carried out the Pierścień operation on the roads of the county. Officers from KPP Bolesławiec were supported by officers from Legnica, Jelenia Góra, Zgorzelec, Lwówek Śląski, Lubań, Kamienna Góra, Złotoryja and Jawor (more than 40 police officers took part in the operation).
The officers checked 258 vehicles, issued 198 fines and seized the registration certificates of 29 vehicles. In addition, officers apprehended two drivers who were subject to court-imposed driving bans.
Preventive activities were also carried out to make drivers aware that flashing their headlights—and thus warning other road users about a police patrol—may also alert:
- a drunk driver
- a thief travelling in a stolen car or transporting items obtained through crime
- a wanted person.
