The first incident occurred on Monday, October 13, in Jagodzin (Węgliniec Commune). The driver of a minibus hit two cyclists, who were taken to hospital in serious condition.

The second accident took place on Wednesday, October 15. Another cyclist was hit and has a broken leg.

Both incidents occurred in built-up areas, during the day, when visibility on the road is relatively good. When dusk falls, visibility is effectively reduced to a minimum, especially outside built-up areas. Police remind people that since August 31 this year, every pedestrian travelling after dark on a road outside a built-up area must wear a reflective element positioned so that it is visible to drivers. Failure to have a reflective element may result in a fine of PLN 20 to 500. We wrote about this, among other things, in the article Up to PLN 500 fine for not wearing a reflector.
